On Thursday January 24th we are having an event for our Learning Center parents and people in our community.  We are going to have a dinner and then presentation on basic Lutheran Christian beliefs. The purpose of this event is to present our church and beliefs in a non-threatening fun way to those outside our church.  Please invite your friends and neighbors who do not yet have a church.

A hearty thank you to all who participated in the “children’s” program on Sunday,

December 23rd.  We had Mary, Joseph, a cow, a sheep, a pig, 5 angels, 8 shepherds, 5 wise men, and 8 young people who had things to read or to say.  It was truly a ‘program for children of all ages ‘– ranging from age 2 to 70+.

We are indeed all God’s children, and need to keep reminding ourselves of His love for us.  I encourage you to continue (or begin!) with your Bible studies: whether they be on Sunday mornings, Tuesday nights, Friday mornings, or every day with your own personal devotions.  Reading His word gives you a chance to know what He has to say to you about His love and about your life. Consider yourself invited to attend any of the Bible study opportunities here at Concordia.

  • Sunday Morning - 9:30 am - Adult Bible Study
  • Tuesday Evening - 6:30 pm - Ladies Bible Study
  • Friday Morning - 9:45 am - TGIF
  • 3rd Saturday Morning - 8:00 am - Men's Prayer and Service

The 2019 flower chart is hanging in the Narthex.  Please take time to sign up for days that are meaningful to you and your family.  The cost is $20 each Sunday.

We quilt every Tuesday 9:30-11:30 a.m. Stop by and see the beautiful quilt from Karen Rupp.  It reminds me of an English country garden.  It will take a lot of time to quilt, but that’s okay as we don’t have a time limit on when it needs to be finished.

Do you have an old quilt that needs cleaning?  Before you put it in a washing machine stop to ask us the best way to clean it.  There is a special soap you can use.  The other thing is red dyes can run or bleed unto other parts of the quilt.  We can help you with that too.  There is a way to test the cloth to check for bleeding.  Taking care of an old quilt is not complicated, but it does require special care.  We’re here to help with any questions you may have.  See you around the frame.  Mrs. Kathy Ewald, Quilt Circle Chairman

Thank you to those who gave so faithfully during December.  The Time to Renovate money spent on the basement floor was replaced with the second Sunday offering and the regular offering was a very generous amount also.  It reminds us that with God all things are possible.

Let us all remember to pray for all the sick and people in need as well as for our family and friends.  Bill & Kathy Ewald – Stewardship Team

Our Men’s Group will meet again the third Saturday of the month at 8:00 a.m. for donuts and coffee and short study.  This will be followed by an hour of working on maintenance of the church.
